PRICE SUMMARY:

$2.00 each, or 3 for $5.00.  Most of these sized pots contain first year herbs started from seed, and the plants are fairly small in size.

LARGER POTS: (about 4” in diameter)
$2.50 each, 3 for $6.50, or 6 for $12.00.  Most of these sized pots contain either the vegetable starter plants or flowers.

Mix and match between varieties, as long as you have multiples (3 or 6) of the same size pot you will still receive the deal price.  You do not have to buy 3 or 6 of the same variety to save money!

In addition, there are a limited number of raspberries in 6” pots or larger, with at least three or more first year canes per pot, priced at $5.00 each.

Greetings fellow Gardeners!  Spring has sprung, and it’s time to start planting!  I have finally managed to update my catalogue for this year and you should be forewarned that is has expanded to “Oh my God, what was I thinking?!” proportions!  As a result, there are new varieties to choose from in all categories, including three new tomato varieties, Djeena Lee’s Golden Girl, Green Zebra and Kellogg’s Breakfast.

All of my seedlings are grown using organic practices without any chemical based fertilizers or pesticides, and almost all are produced from certified organic seed, or at the very least organically grown seed.  In addition, to the best of my knowledge all varieties are open-pollinated and non-hybrid, which means that you can save seed from your plants for next year and they will continue to produce the same product for years to come.  Many varieties are heirlooms, having been grown for at least fifty years (some for hundreds), but are unfamiliar to the average consumer due to the limited choices offered in plant nurseries and grocery stores.

There are two main categories for pricing.  The smaller pots (2.5-3” in diameter) are $2.00 each, or 3 for $5.00.  Most of these sized pots contain first year herbs started from seed, and the plants are fairly small in size.  The larger pots (about 4” in diameter) are $2.50 each, 3 for $6.50, or 6 for $12.00.  Most of these sized pots contain either the vegetable starter plants or flowers.  Feel free to mix and match between varieties, as long as you have multiples (3 or 6) of the same size pot you will still receive the deal price.  You do not have to buy 3 or 6 of the same variety to save money!  In addition, there are a limited number of raspberries in 6” pots or larger, with at least three or more first year canes per pot, priced at $5.00 each.  If there is anything that I do not carry that you are interested in, please let me know, as I may be able to locate an item for you from another grower or provide you with limited seeds or suggest a company from which to purchase them.

Some items are only available in limited supply, so please order early if you do not wish to miss out on something unique.  Orders will be ready for pick-up starting on May 16th at 85 Michael Blvd in Whitby, but please phone ahead at (905) 668-6528 or e-mail at turtle_trek@hotmail.com to setup a pick-up day and time.  Orders can also be picked up at the May meeting of Canadian Organic Growers Durham chapter.  Alternatively, orders are available for delivery in the southern Durham Region as far east as Bowmanville for a delivery charge of $5.00; free delivery on orders over $30.00 within the same region, dates and times to be determined.  If you wish delivery beyond this region a fee will have to be agreed upon.

Please note that pot sizes are approximate and may vary slightly, as I try to reuse old pots whenever possible in an effort to reduce the number heading to the landfill.  If you return your pots when you are finished planting I will ensure that they are thoroughly washed and ready for reuse in future years.  I am currently in desperate need of the smaller sized pots and also strong trays on which to carry the seedlings, so if you have any lying around that you don’t need, please, send them my way!

Thanks for taking the time to browse through my catalogue, and I hope you have a fantastic 2009 growing season!
